Strengthening Nation-to-Nation Relationships

Pheasant Rump, Treaty 4 Territory – Chief Ira McArthur continues to provide strong leadership for Pheasant Rump Nakota First Nation and the Nakota (Assiniboine) people. His efforts were instrumental in advancing the Nation’s long-standing pursuit of justice, culminating in federal recognition of Pheasant Rump as a continuous Treaty 4 Nation. This recognition helped correct a historical wrong stemming from the 1901 forced amalgamation and reaffirmed the Nation’s distinct history, identity, and place within Treaty 4.
